Noah Amazon Fishing

Noah Amazon Fishing runs the Mariuá II liveaboard on the Rio Negro, departing from Barcelos, the heart of the largest speckled peacock bass region in Amazonas. With capacity for 18 anglers, the vessel has air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms, plus an upper deck with a bar and a dining area overlooking the river. It works as a floating base while it moves between the Rio Negro and its tributaries Cuiuni, Aracá and Padauari, bringing anglers close to the best fishing grounds each day.

The target species is the speckled peacock bass (Cichla temensis). Fishing is done from aluminum skiffs that reach narrow igarapés and white-sand beaches where the fish concentrate, with one fishing guide for every pair of anglers.

The prime window follows the falling water of the Rio Negro. The river peaks around June and drops sharply between September and November, when beaches and side channels are exposed and peacock bass gather in pools and shallow margins, creating the classic Barcelos sport-fishing conditions.

The package covers the Manaus–Barcelos–Manaus air leg, six fishing days, full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) and a hotel night in Barcelos. Onboard there is 24-hour Starlink internet, plus beer, caipirinha, drinks, soft drinks, water and juices included, and a cooler with drinks on each fishing boat. During the week the trip includes a beach luau and a bar set up on a river beach.
