Amazon Tucuna Expedition

Amazon Tucuna Expedition is a complex of stilt-built chalets on Lago do Maçarico, on the banks of the Rio Juma, in the municipality of Careiro, deep in the Amazon rainforest. Operating since 2005, the lodge runs its fishing season from September to December — the exact window when regional water levels hit their seasonal low, concentrating peacock bass on exposed sandbanks and beaches.

Each chalet is a wooden double unit with two single beds, air conditioning, a private bathroom, a minibar and Starlink internet. The main lodge building centers on a masonry pool with a hydromassage lounge over an elevated wooden deck, a social hall with a full bar, pool table and TV, plus a separate round thatched-roof hut. A long wooden walkway connects the main building to a floating dock where the fishing boats are moored.

The package runs all-inclusive: regional breakfast, full lunch and themed dinners — including an Italian night and a Brazilian gaúcho-style barbecue night — come out of a kitchen with a dedicated chef, and the bar keeps premium spirits flowing — 12- and 18-year whisky, vodka, tequila, rum, cachaça, Campari and sparkling wine — alongside craft-style beer and all-day snacks.

On the water, each angler gets an individual boat with a 40hp motor, unlimited fuel and an expert guide, backed by an advanced camp setup for longer runs upriver. The 6-day, 5-night package includes airport pickup and full transfer to the lodge.
